ABOUT AMY
I was drawn to the field of Chinese Medicine because of its strong link to the natural world and the laws that govern it. I believe the Taoist concepts of balance, harmony, and dynamic equilibrium are as evident in our own bodies as they are in the environment that surrounds us. This approach to the workings of the human body spoke to me in a way that the traditional Western medical view of the body could not. I acknowledge the benefits of these two medical traditions working in concert with each other, but my heart resides with the East, where the inseparable connection of the physical, emotional, and spiritual body is the foundation of the healing process. I consider myself fortunate to have the opportunity and privilege to help people feel better every day, and I love acupuncture because it simply and elegantly stimulates the body's innate capacity for healing.
I am licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine, Committee on Acupuncture. and am a diplomate of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). I received my B.A. in Biology and Environmental Studies from Providence College in 1995 and my M.Ac. in Acupuncture from New England School of Acupuncture in 2000. My graduate study and clinical practice focuses on Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture. In my practice, I combine elements of these styles to achieve optimum results for each individual person. I enjoy empowering my patients by educating them on the merits of this ancient holistic medical tradition and how its theories can help create a more healthy and balanced lifestyle. I currently maintain a private practice at Atlantic Wellness Center in Essex, Massachusetts.
